February's Wreath ~Sauri Style~

I found a great idea for a wreath during one of ~Tasha's~ Friday link parties.  They are so fun.  I find so many great things on her blog.  You need to go check it out!

Anyway, I found this blogger's ~ChristmasYarn Wreath~ and at that very moment I knew I wanted to use this with Valentines Day colors.

My Materials
1}  Wreath Form
2}  Pink, Purple and Turquoise yarn
3}  Newspaper
4}  Glue gun & glue

Reynaldo chose pink to cover the form.  He is kind of a pink fan, don't judge.  He's only 3 and he lives with the "PINK LOVING PRINCESS" so he has an excuse.

Please notice the "texture" to the wreath form.....big mistake.  Covering the form with yarn took over 6 hours to finish because of those pesky "waves" in the form.  I also would pick a smaller circle the next time I decide to cover with yarn.  I was not expecting it to take so long.  I finally decided that I needed to get over the form peaking through the yarn.  It was taking too much time to try and cover them.  I will just glue the yarn balls over the exposed places.

I had my crafty helpers to crumple the newspaper into balls.
Aren't they cute!  We made lots of "yarn balls", 50 if not more, and then glued them to the form.

I ran out of yarn, plus I decided that the pink yarn wrapped around the form needed to show.  I tell you, IT TOOK FOREVER TO COVER THE FORM!  To me, it's ok that the wreath isn't puffy everywhere, the pink is festive so we'll leave it just like this.

I hope you get a small idea of how humongous this thing is.  50-60 balls of yarn didn't even come close to covering the thing.

It is my first wreath I've made that is so colorful.  I'm very happy with the result.  It's colorful and festive yet welcoming, sitting on the front door.

Tell me what you think?  You think you'll try one?  It sure is pretty!
